A Tarp Tent is Useful In Everyday Applications
Constructing your own tarp tent is a task which is both easy and requires little or no tools and supplies. Simple tarp tents, such as those used in camping situations, can be created by using the natural surroundings. A poly tarp cover is a necessary component to any survival kit or camping kit. This versatile item can be used over and over again a well as used for multiple purposes. In outdoor camping situations, the poly tarp cover can be used in conjunction with surrounding wood logs and branches to construct an instant tarp tent shelter. The wood branches are used as the shelter framework before placing the waterproof poly tarp over the top. This method of creating a shelter is both fast and life saving in emergency situations. Once utilized for the night, the tarp tent can then be easily taken down and the cover re-packed into a backpack.
Tarp tents have many uses other than camping and there are no limits as to what application one may be used for. All that is needed is a good dependable poly cover and some hardware for the framework. The framework can consist of steel tubing, PVC tubing, wood posts or even outdoor tree branches. Some examples of tarp tents that are used frequently include overnight shelters, temporary spray booths for painting, portable dressing rooms for market vendors, portable dark rooms for photographers and more.
The term tarp tent has a wide definition and can even be a word used to describe prefabricated structures such as carports, portable garages and party tents. Although prefabricated shelter kits are more advanced in construction, the tarp tent theory is the same. The ultimate goal of using a tarp tent is protection from either rain, sun, snow, wind or some other type of natural phenomenon. However, the design will vary based on your protection needs. Obviously a small tubular framed structure is not the ideal shelter for protecting your car or truck. In these instances pricing out a solid, well constructed garage canopy kit is the better alternative to a lightweight tarp tent. There are many retailers available online that specialize in advanced tarp tents for covering everything from SUV's, trucks, boats and cars. There are even tarp tents available for party gatherings such as weddings. These structures are specifically manufactured to withstand the elements and provide a safe steel framed structure as support for the tarp tent cover.
