Can God send and Atheist to rescue a Theist ?
You here many people thanking God after they are rescued from life threatening situations.
As an atheist who is involved in rescue ( Coastguard, Volunteer Fire brigade, Emergency search and rescue ) I am curious, when I head out in terrible conditions to save people do you think "Your God" sends me and those other atheists like me ?
Or do you think we just do it because we care for other people ?
Of course not!!
I have worked with lepers, in disaster areas, with aid agencies and in charities to help the poor and disadvantaged. I was a director of several charities, deputy chairman of two and also did a certain amount of voluntary work!!
Now I am retired I do a certain amount of consultancy - for free - with charities and also do a little voluntary work.
Sadly we lost some great workers and had to move others due to the christian bullying and threats of hell and damnation. Now thankfully all the aid agencies have a binding code of conduct but it still has not stopped the bullying entirely!!
The only rason god comes into rescue or aid work is because whilst the non christiansare getting on with the job the christians sopend so much of their time trying to claim they are the ons that are doing it all!!
In a disaster of any sort just hope it is non christians that sim ply get on with the job that come to youraid - rescue will be much quicker and that will notgo around bragging about it instead of helping the next person!!
